Students and parents should check Aeries no less than once a week to stay up to date on student progress.  Contact the front office if you need Aeries access.

Canvas is the Learning Management System, LMS, used for this course.

     To access Canvas, students will need to use the "waffle" menu from the Google Homepage when they are logged into their sausdlearns account.  They can also use the following links:

Accelerated Reader is MacArthur's reading accountability program.  Students read books independently, and then take quizzes.

     Login Conventions

          Username: student ID# (123456)

          Password: sID# (a lowercase "s" for student and then the ID number, s123456)

Please note, depending on the teacher's expectations, students may not have access to Accelerated Reader outside of the classroom or school day.

Lexia is a reading, language, vocabulary, and grammar support program that students may use in language arts class.

          Password: First initial, last initial, birth month,

Reading Plus is an online literacy program that improves students' fluency and vocabulary skills.

     Login Conventions

          Site Code: rpmacar3

          Username: FirstnameLastname (type your first and last name with no space in between)

          Password: s123456 (the lower-case letter "s" followed by your ID number -not literally 123456)

         *for Reading Plus, sometimes the passwords carry over from elementary school.  Contact your teacher if your login is not working.

NoRedInk is an online program where students practice grammar and writing skills.

          Login through Google, as long as you are signed into your sausdlearns.net account.

Writable is an Artificial Intelligence that provides scoring and feedback for essays.  Throughout the year, we will use Writable as part of the writing process as well as use it to score in-class essays, including the District Writing Assessment.

Quizlet is an online tool for studying vocabulary.  Students will have virtual notecards and a series of games and challenges to practice terms that are important for the class.

Journalism students will have their completed articles published to our class's website in addition to our printed issues that we publish.
