The California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF) was founded in 1967 and is the oldest junior high/middle school scholastic, scholarship institution in the state of California. CJSF is part of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF), the oldest scholarship institution in California, founded in 1921.
CJSF emphasizes high standards of scholarship, community service, and citizenship for California junior high and middle school students. CJSF encourages service to the school and to the community while fostering pride in academic scholastic achievement.
At MacArthur, CJSF promotes appropriate activities amongst its members. Students in grades 7 and 8 who meet the requirements are eligible for membership. Members must participate in peer tutoring, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have not yet determined how we will proceed with this particularly community service.
Member awards include a membership card, Honor membership pin, official gold seal, verification of Honor Award on the cumulative record, and Associate Membership in the CSF chapter in high school for those who maintain their grades.
Mrs. Skipper-Spurgeon has been your AMAZING CJSF advisor for the past few years. Mr. De Gree will be your advisor in 2021/2022 and will try to follow in her footsteps. He is counting on the incredible MacArthur students to help him out and guarantee that this year will be awesome.
